Earnings season is starting to wrap up, but today one major mobile player revealed its latest quarterly results.
Apple today shared its earnings for the third quarter of fiscal 2017. The company says that it sold 41.0 million iPhone units during Q3 FY17, up slightly from the 40.4 million iPhones that it sold in Q3 FY16.
iPad sales grew 15 percent, with Apple moving 11.4 million iPads in Q3 FY17. Mac sales grew 1 percent YoY, with 4.3 million units sold in Q3 FY17.
Apple reports that its Services division pulled in $7.3 billion in revenue for the quarter, which is up 22 percent YoY. The Services division includes digital content and services, AppleCare, Apple Pay, licensing, and more.
The Other Products division of Apple enjoyed some growth in Q3 FY17, too. Its revenue for the quarter was $2.7 billion, up 23 percent from the year-ago quarter. Apple’s Other Products division includes sales of Apple TV, Apple Watch, Beats products, iPod devices, and Apple accessories. Apple doesn’t break out unit sales for these products.
Apple’s total revenue for the quarter finished at $45.4 billion, up 7 percent YoY. Net income for the quarter was $8.7 billion, up from $7.8 billion in Q3 FY16.
Looking ahead, Apple expects its Q4 FY17 revenue to be between $49 and $52 billion. The company’s revenue in Q4 FY16 finished at $46.9 billion.
Apple will hold a conference call at 2:00 pm PT/5:00 pm ET to discuss these results. If Tim Cook and Co. have any other interesting details to share, I’ll be sure to update this post.
