Galaxy S8 owners, are you considering upgrading to the Galaxy Note 8?

Samsung Galaxy S8

Tomorrow, Samsung is going to unveil the next big thing in its smartphone lineup. This new device is going to be the Galaxy Note 8, and Samsung has all but confirmed its existence by now. The teaser for the event tomorrow did all the work, showing a device that has familiar design cues from the Galaxy S8 launched earlier this year, but with a few changes and additions that will make the device a Note phablet.

This isn't a new phenomena, either. Samsung is a company that uses the 12 months in a calendar year to launch not just one flagship phone, but, usually, two. Sometimes more. This year won't be any different. The Galaxy S8 helped Samsung emerge from the murk that was the end of 2016, following the debacle that was the Galaxy Note 7, but now the company wants to take advantage of the momentum it has found this year.

The Galaxy Note 8 is the best way to do that, so it's good to see the handset will arrive this year.

I had heard last year that maybe the Galaxy Note lineup had seen its end of days, and that maybe Samsung should sunset the lineup altogether. But I never thought that was a good plan, and I think those who have been waiting for the Galaxy Note 8, especially those who had to return their Galaxy Note 7 last year, are happy to see Samsung bringing the device to market, too.

I was a huge fan of the Galaxy Note 7 and I can't wait to see what Samsung bring to the table with the Galaxy Note 8. More than anything, though, I am looking forward to seeing how Samsung adds to the equation that the company released earlier this year. What does the company do to improve the Galaxy Note 8 when compared to the Galaxy S8? And will those changes be worthwhile?

I don't know a lot of people that upgrade their phone every six months, but I do know some, and companies like Samsung and LG are the reason why. They pick up the newest and best phone from one of the companies at the beginning of the year, wait until the back half of the year for the company to launch a new thing, and replace their "old" phone with the new and shiny one. I imagine there are a few of you out there that do this, too, given the opportunity and a phone that's worth picking up.

So, I'm curious to know if there are any Galaxy S8 owners out there that might have gone with that particular handset because the Galaxy Note 7 wasn't an option, but have been waiting to see what Samsung could do with the Galaxy Note 8. I want to know if there are any of you out there that plan on upgrading to the Galaxy Note 8 from your Galaxy S8 (or even the Galaxy S8+), and if so, what would the Galaxy Note 8 have to include for you to consider it? And of course the question goes out to anyone who picked up a phone earlier this year. Are you already considering upgrading before the end of 2017? Let me know!
