Instagram's Close Friends lets you share Stories with a select group

Instagram Close Friends feature

Instagram's got another new feature rolling out.

Instagram now lets you share Stories only with a selection of your close friends. To enable this feature, go to your profile and tap on "Close Friends" in the side menu. Then when you share Stories, you'll have the option to share with only the people on your Close Friends list.

Only you can see your Close Friends list, and no one can request to be added to your list. If someone has added you to their Close Friends list, you'll see a green badge when you're viewing their stories and a green ring around their profile in the Stories tray.

This new Close Friends feature is rolling out globally today on both Android and iPhone. A lot of Instagram users like to create "Finstagrams", or fake Instagram profiles, so that they can share Stories with a select group of people. Now Instagram is making that an official feature of the app so that you don't have to create a whole new profile just to share Stories with a select group of people.
