Google says Fast Pair can sync across your Android devices, Chromebook support coming

Google Fast Pair Android

Google is working to make pairing Bluetooth headphones to your Android devices even better.

Google today announced that it's updating its Fast Pair specs so that it's easier to connect Bluetooth accessories to devices associated with your Google Account. This means that Fast Pair will connect accessories to your current and future Android phones running 6.0 Marshmallow or higher, and in 2019, support for Chromebooks will be added.

The good news regarding Fast Pair doesn't end there. Google is working with dozens of companies to bring Fast Pair-compatible devices to market in the coming months, including Jaybird, Anker, and Bose.

Connecting Bluetooth headphones and speakers to your phone can be a pain, so it's nice to see Google working to improve Fast Pair and make the process easier on users. By associating devices with your Google Account, Fast Pair should simplify the process of pairing your phone and your headphones, helping you to more quickly enjoy your new accessory.
