If you love to carry a library of music, movies, and games wherever you go, SanDisk and Micron have a new microSD card for you.
SanDisk and Micron today each announced a 1TB microSD card. SanDisk claims that its 1TB SanDisk Extreme UHS-I microSDXC card is the world's fastest 1TB UHS-I microSD card, offering speeds up to 160MB/s. The card also features the A2 specification to help launch and load apps more quickly.
The 1TB SanDisk microSD card will launch in April at a price of $449.99. SanDisk also plans to launch a 512GB version at that time that'll cost $199.99.
Micron says that its c200 1TB microSD card offers 100MB/s read and 95MB/s write speeds as well as support for the A2 specification. Micron's c200 1TB microSD card will launch in Q2 2019 for an undisclosed price.
It's no surprise to see a 1TB microSD card, as storage sizes are always increasing and so it makes sense that we'd see a 1TB card eventually. Still, it's kind of crazy to think that you can add 1TB of storage to your phone, tablet, or gaming console with this tiny little card. It won't be cheap, at least not at first, but this 1TB card will help you carry a massive amount of content everywhere you go.
