LG has launched several devices to date with dedicated Google Assistant buttons, and soon we'll see other device makers add a Google Assistant button to their phones, too.
Google revealed today that LG and Nokia are adding a Google Assistant button to their entire portfolio of devices, including the LG G8 ThinQ, LG K40, Nokia 4.2, and Nokia 3.2. Xiaomi is adding a dedicated Google Assistant button to the Mi 9 and Mi Mix 3 5G, too, and Vivo is adding the button to phones like the V15 Pro. TCL will launch phones with a dedicated Google Assitant button later this year as well.
A dedicated Google Assistant button can be super handy, letting you launch the Google's virtual assistant with a quick button press. Sure, it's not exactly hard to launch the Google Assistant in other ways, like saying "Hey Google", but sometimes you just want to quickly launch the Assistant and the situation may not be appropriate for you to talk to your phone.
Does your phone have a dedicated Google Assistant button? If not, would you like it better if it did?
Google Assistant button will be on upcoming phones from LG, Nokia, Xiaomi, TCL, and Vivo originally posted at http://phonedog.com
