Moto G6 official

Today Motorola held its big event in Brazil, and as expected, it had some new hardware to show.

Motorola today unveiled the new Moto G6 family of devices. It includes the standard Moto G6 as  well as the Moto G6 Plus and Moto G6 Play.

The Moto G6 features a 5.7-inch 2160x1080 display, and like many other smartphones nowadays, that display has an 18:9 aspect ratio. There's also an elongated fingerprint reader below that display that you can swipe left to go back, swipe right to access recent apps, or tap to go home.

Another mobile trend that Moto G6 gets in on is the dual rear camera trend. It's got 12MP and 5MP cameras with f/1.8 aperture, and those cameras offer features like a portrait mode for adding blurry backgrounds to your photos, selective black and white, and a recognition system that'll help you learn more about the objects and landmarks around you. There's also an 8MP front camera that you can use to unlock your phone with your face.

Inside the Moto G6's body is 3GB/4GB of RAM, 32GB/64GB of storage, a microSD card slot, a Snapdragon 450 processor, and a 3,000mAh battery. There are USB-C and 3.5mm headphone jacks on the Moto G6, too, and the body features p2i water-repellant coating. On the software side, the Moto G6 runs Android 8.0 Oreo.

The Moto G6 Plus is a step-up from the standard G6 in a few dways. It's got a larger 5.9-inch 2160x1080 display with 18:9 aspect ratio, 4GB/6GB of RAM, and Snapdragon 630 processor. The G6 Plus also boasts a larger 3,200mAh battery.

Rounding out the Moto G6 Plus's spec list is a dual rear camera setup with 12MP and 5MP cameras with an f/1.7 aperture, an 8MP front camera, a microSD card slot, and Android 8.0 Oreo. It's got USB-C and 3.5mm headphone jacks, too, and a p2i water-repellant coating.

And then there's the Moto G6 Play, which is the more entry-level member of the G6 family. It's got a 5.7-inch 1440x720 display with 18:9 aspect ratio, a Snapdragon 427 processor, and a single 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture. There's a 5MP front-facing camera, too.

The RAM on the Moto G6 Play comes in 2GB or 3GB configurations and there's 16GB or 32GB of storage as well as a microSD card slot if you need more storage. A fingerprint reader lives below the G6 Play's screen, there are microUSB and 3.5mm headphone jacks included, and the phone has a p2i water-repellant coating.

One standout feature of the Android 8.0-powered Moto G6 Play is its battery, which measures in at 4,000mAh battery.
