Instagram Stories is becoming more interactive.
Instagram today launched polls in Stories. Now when you’re viewing someone’s photo or video in Stories, you can vote in a custom poll and see which side is winning.
When creating a pill, you select the “poll” sticker after you’ve taken a photo or video for your story. That sticker can be placed anywhere you’d like, and you can also write out your own question and customize the poll choices. You can view the poll results, including how many votes each option got and who voted for which one, by opening the viewers list for that part of your story.
Just like normal Instagram Stories, polls and their results will disappear after 24 hours.
Also rolling out today are a couple of Instagram Stories tools. There’s a color picker that’ll let you use an eyedropper to select a color from your photo or video and apply it to your text or drawing tool, and iOS users will now see blue lines when applying text or a sticker to text or a video to help them center it and avoid placing it where it might be covered up.
These new features are launching today as part of version 17 of the Instagram app on iOS and Android.
