Most smartphones released nowadays are large touchscreen slabs, but occasionally Samsung churns out something a bit different.
Samsung has announced that its Galaxy Folder 2 is launching in South Korea. The Galaxy Folder 2 is an Android 6.0 smartphone that originally made its debut in China late last year with a 3.8-inch 800x480 display, 8-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras, and a removable 1,950mAh battery.
Other specs for Samsung’s Android-powered flip phone include a quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, a microSD slot, and dual SIM slots. Samsung also touts that the Galaxy Folder 2 has increased ringtone volumes for enhanced usability, a key for quick access to social apps, and a larger keypad for that’s easier to read.
The Galaxy Folder 2 will be available in black and burgundy color options and 3G and LTE models. Pricing starts at 297,000 KRW ($260 USD).
New Android flip phones will pop up every now and then, but unfortunately, we rarely see them launch outside of a two or three countries in Asia. It’s unlikely that that’ll change with the Galaxy Folder 2, which means that most of us will continue to ogle Android flip phones like this one from afar.
