We’ve seen a lot of smartphones lately with dual rear camera setups, giving them a total of three cameras. Now Gionee is one-upping those devices with a phone that’s got four cameras.
The new Gionee S10 is now official, complete with two rear cameras and two front-facing cameras. The two rear cameras include a 16-megapixel shooter with an f/1.8 aperture to improve low-light performance. Meanwhile, there’s a 20-megapixel camera on the front of the S10 as well as an 8-megapixel sensor.
Gionee also touts that it has included a hardware image processor and its own ISP algorithm that work in tandem with the dual camera setups to give you real-time bokeh effects.
Other features of the Gionee S10 include a 5.5-inch 1920x1070 display, Helio P25 processor, a whopping 6GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, a microSD slot for adding more storage, dual SIM slots, and a 3450mAh battery. The S10 runs Android 7.0 Nougat below a custom Amigo 4.0 user interface.
The Gionee S10 is now available for pre-order in China at a price of 2599 Chinese Yuan ($379 USD), and it’ll launch in China on June 9th. Unfortunately for those of us not in China, there’s no word yet on a release outside of that country. That’s kind of a bummer because not only is the S10 interesting because of its four cameras, but it’s also got a pretty decent spec list with 6GB of RAM, a 5.5-inch 1080p display, and a microSD slot. Looks like this is just another device that those of us outside of China will have to ogle from afar.
