Samsung Galaxy S8 updates coming in response to red-tinted screens, Wi-Fi bug

Samsung Galaxy S8 Bixby Home hands-on

Days after the Galaxy S8 and S8+ hit store shelves, Samsung has announced plans to push software updates to the devices to address some issues that’ve been discovered by users.

Some Galaxy S8 owners have complained that their display has a red tint to it, but Samsung says that this is not a hardware issue. In response, Samsung will update the GS8 to give owners “a further enhanced ability to adjust the color setting to their preference.”

Meanwhile, Galaxy S8 owners in South Korea are having issues with the Wi-Fi hotspots belonging to a carrier there. A fix for this bug will be released in a software update that’s only rolled out in South Korea.

Samsung says these updates will begin rolling out this week. That’s good to hear, especially for folks that are bothered by red-tinted screens, because it’s difficult to do much with your expensive new flagship smartphone if you don’t like looking at the display.
