HTC U12+ doesn't include a 3.5mm to USB-C headphone adapter

HTC U12+ Translucent Blue

We've seen quite a few phones ship without 3.5mm headphone jacks, including the iPhone 7, iPhone X, Google Pixel and Pixel 2, and the HTC U11. Many of these devices include a 3.5mm adapter to let owners use their own 3.5mm headphones, but HTC's new U12+ won't.

HTC has confirmed that the U12+ won't include a 3.5mm headphone adapter. The phone does include a pair of HTC USonic earbuds with a USB-C connector, so U12+ buyers will be able to listen to tunes right away, they'll just have to use HTC's included earbuds to do it.

HTC does sell its own USB-C to 3.5mm headphone adapter for $11.99, but that product is currently out of stock in the U.S. online store.

The news that the HTC U12+ won't ship with a 3.5mm adapter is disappointing. The U12+ is a flagship phone that starts at $799, so it'd be nice if HTC would include its $12 adapter for the customers that are dropping serious cash on its new device. And while the U12+ does include USB-C earbuds, many people have headphones that they're happy with and would like to use on their devices.
