Nokia device maker HMD Global recently touted a new partnership with Zeiss that’d bring Zeiss optics back to Nokia phones, and today we’re getting a peek at the fruits of that deal.
Images of the Nokia 8 have leaked out. Shared by VentureBeat, the images show a new Nokia Android phone with a dual rear camera setup that includes Zeiss branding. We can also see a front-facing camera, fingerprint reader below the display, and capacitive buttons on either side of that fingerprint reader.
When it comes to specs, it’s rumored that the Nokia 8 could feature a 5.3-inch display 2560x1440 display, dual 13-megapixel rear cameras, either 4GB or 6GB of RAM, and a Snapdragon 835 processor. The device is reportedly going to carry the model number TA-1012, which was recently spotted in the FCC database.
The Nokia 8 could be announced as soon as July 31st. The device appears to share the same design language as other recent HMD-made Nokia phones, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. This looks like a nice device, and its specs are certainly high-end. It’s exciting to see a flagship-tier Nokia device coming to market, and I’m sure a lot of folks are looking forward to getting their hands on the Nokia 8 and putting its Zeiss-branded dual rear camera setup to the test.
