Earlier this month, we were treated to an early look at Google’s upcoming Pixel XL 2. Now that device has leaked again, and it’s brought its smaller Pixel 2 sibling with it.
Renders that claim to show the Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 have been leaked by @OnLeaks and MySmartPrice. These renders are based on factory CAD information.
The designs of these two devices are similar. On the front, they each have slimmer bezels than their predecessors, and around back the glass panel that used to hold both the rear camera and fingerprint reader has shrunk and now only includes the camera. That rear camera also protrudes slightly from the backs of both units.
One notable difference between the two phones is that the top and bottom bezels of the Pixel 2 (above) appear to be a bit larger than those on the Pixel XL 2 (below).
Also worth pointing out is that while both the Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 shown in today’s render leak retain the USB Type-C ports found on their predecessors, they don’t have 3.5mm headphone jacks.
While still unofficial, these leaked Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 designs look like solid improvements over the original Pixel phones. The Pixel XL 2 is reminiscent of the Galaxy S8 and G6 with its slim top and bottom bezels and tall display, and though the Pixel 2’s bezels don’t appear to be quite as thin, it still looks pretty good.
What do you think of these rumored Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 designs?
