Today the Pokémon Go Fest was held in Chicago to celebrate the first anniversary of Pokémon Go, and while the event itself had some technical issues, there’s a lot of exciting stuff happening thanks to the gathering.
Pokémon Go is now offering its first legendary Pokémon, Lugia and Articuno. Players everywhere can now try and capture these birds in Legendary Raid Battles. Pokémon Go developer Niantic says that Moltres and Zapdos will begin appearing in Legendary Raid Battles soon.
Additionally, Pokémon Go is offering some special enhancements to celebrate all of the Pokémon caught during the game’s special Challenge Windows. The following enhancements will be activated until July 24th at 5:00 pm PDT:
- Double Stardust
- Double Candy
- Double XP
- Increased Pokémon encounters
- Reduced hatching distance
- Reduced buddy distance
These enhancements should really help players improve their Pokémon and prepare to battle the legendary Pokémon Lugia and Articuno. So if you’re a Pokémon Go player, get out there and start catching Pokémon!
