Louis Vuitton Tambour Horizon is a new Android Wear smartwatch that starts at $2,450

Another day, another luxury watch maker getting into the smartwatch game.

Louis Vuitton today introduced the Tambour Horizon, its new Android Wear 2.0 smartwatch. The Tambour Horizon will be offered in three different styles — Graphite, Monogram, and Black — each with a 42mm stainless steel case that’s 12.55mm thick and includes sapphire glass on the front and back. There will be 60 interchangeable straps offered, 30 for men and 30 for women.

Also included are some special Louis Vuitton watch faces and custom apps. City Guide will recommend restaurants, bars, and other spots for you to visit based on your location, while My Flight will track your flight info and alert you about delays.

When it comes to raw specs, Louis Vuitton’s Tambour Horizon is a pretty standard Android Wear 2.0 smartwatch. It’s got a round 1.2-inch 390x390 AMOLED display, Snapdragon 2100 processor, 4GB of storage, 512MB of RAM, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi. Louis Vuitton has included a 300mAh battery, and the whole package is water resistant up to 30 meters. One thing that’s not included is a heart rate monitor, so you won’t be using this watch to track your fitness.

As you might expected from a luxury brand like Louis Vuitton, the Tambour Horizon isn’t cheap. The Graphite and Monogram (shown above) models start at $2,450 each, while the Black version (shown below) steps things up to $2,900. That’s actually pretty cheap compared to Louis Vuitton’s analog watches, which can cost up to $16,500. While those of us not accustomed to buying luxury timepieces might scoff at the Tambour Horizon’s price, folks that regularly buy Louis Vuitton products might be into this new Android Wear smartwatch.
