Thirsty for more Google Pixel XL 2017 details after the image leak that surfaced earlier this week? The rumor mill is happy to oblige.
A new report from XDA-Developers claims that Google’s Pixel XL 2017 will take advantage of having an OLED screen by offering always-on ambient display functionality. This will enable the Pixel XL 2017 to display info like time and notifications, even when locked and idle, since the OLED display panel will be able to show these details while lighting up a small number of pixels and using very little battery life.
Today’s report also backs up the previous leak by saying that the Pixel XL 2017 will offer a squeezable frame. It’s said that you’ll be able to squeeze the Pixel XL 2017 to launch Google Assistant when the screen is on or off. You may also be able to perform other actions by squeezing the frame, like silencing incoming calls.
The HTC U11 offers a squeezable frame, and it’d be interesting to see Google’s take on the feature with the Pixel XL 2017. The ability to activate Google Assistant by squeezing the frame sounds pretty cool because it’d like you quickly activate Assistant without your voice, like when you’re pulling your phone out of your pocket.
Based on what we’ve heard of it so far, are you looking forward to the Google Pixel XL 2017?
