Honor 10 makes its international debut with display notch and ultrasonic fingerprint reader

Honor 10 official front back

After making its debut in China one month ago, the Honor 10 today got its international reveal.

The Honor 10 is the newest flagship smartphone from Huawei sub-brand Honor. That would explain why it's got a design that's similar to the Huawei P20, complete with a notch at the top of its 5.84-inch 2280x1080 LCD screen.

Around back is a dual rear camera setup with a 16MP color sensor and 24MP monochrome sensor. Like some other devices with dual rear cameras, the Honor 10 offers a portrait mode that'll give your photos a blurry background, and it's also got a studio lighting mode that'll add dramatic lighting to your shots. Also included is augmented reality support.

The front of the Honor 10 is home to a 24MP camera with f/2.0 aperture for all of your selfie needs as well as an ultrasonic fingerprint reader that lives below the screen and works even with wet fingers.

Packed inside of the Honor 10 is an octa-core Kirin 970 processor, which is the same one that's inside the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro. That Kirin 970 is paired with 4GB tof RAM and 64GB or 128GB of built-in storage. Also included is NFC and a 3400mAh battery.

Rounding out the Honor 10's feature set is USB-C, a 3.5mm headphone jack — a feature that the Honor 10's Huawei P20 sibling lacks — dual SIM slots, and Android 8.1 Oreo running below the custom EMUI 8.1 user interface.

The Honor 10 is now available to purchase in select European countries for €399.9 ($474 USD) for the 64GB model and €449.9/£399.99 ($534 USD).

It's good to see the Honor 10 making its international debut following its launch in China last month. It offers high-end specs in a package that's more affordable that many flagship models and it's a good-looking device, too, especially those color shift models that help the Honor 10 stand out from most other smartphones out there.
