The Moto leaks continue to come with regularity, as more info regarding the unannounced Moto Z2 Play has emerged.
First up, Lenovo’s official Twitter account recently said that the Moto Z2 Play will have a 3000mAh battery. The comment came in a response to a question about the Moto Z2 Play’s battery and why it’s smaller than the one found in the Moto Z Play. The Moto Z2 Play hasn’t been announced yet, though, so it should come as no surprise that Lenovo has since deleted its tweet. You can view the cached version here.
Meanwhile, it appears that the Moto Z2 Play recently made its way through TENAA, a Chinese regulator. The device in TENAA’s listing looks similar to the leaked Moto Z2 Play images that we’ve seen in the past.
This TENAA listing also includes specs, claiming that that the Moto Z2 Play is running Android 7.1.1 on a 5.49-inch 1920x1080 OLED display, 12-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, a microSD card slot, and an octa-core processor.
Most of those leaked specs line up with what we’ve heard about the Moto Z2 Play before. It’s looking like the Z2 Play will be an upper mid-range device, not unlike its predecessor. The smaller battery in the Moto Z2 Play is sure to turn some people off, especially considering that battery life was one of the highlights of the original Moto Z Play, but we’ll have to wait until we can actually use the Z2 Play and measure its battery life before making any judgments.
