OnePlus has a nice surprise for OnePlus 6 owners as we head into the weekend.
Android 9.0 Pie is now available for the OnePlus 6. It's rolling out as part of the phone's update to OxygenOS 9.0, which brings with it a few other notable improvements, like a new Do Not Disturb mode and an improved Gaming Mode.
Here's OnePlus's changelog for the update:
Updated system to Android™ 9.0 Pie
- Brand new UI for Android Pie
- New adaptive battery support
- New Android Pie gesture navigation
- Updated Android security patch to 2018.9
- Other new features and system improvements
Do Not Disturb mode
- New Do Not Disturb (DND) mode with adjustable settings
New Gaming mode 3.0
- Added text notification mode
- Added notification for 3rd party calls
Accent color
- Supported accent color customization
As with most OnePlus updates, this OxygenOS 9.0 rollout will be staged. That means that only a limited number of OnePlus 6 owners will get it today, allowing OnePlus to make sure that there are no major bugs before rolling it out to everyone else. A broader rollout will happen in a few days.
Once your OnePlus 6 gets its slice of Android Pie, be sure to let us know what you think of it!
