Xiaomi is expanding its lineup of Android devices again with two new products.

First up, the Redmi 6 Pro is an upper mid-range device with a 5.84-inch 2280x1080 display that has a 19:9 aspect ratio and is the latest Android phone to adopt the notch. Inside that notch is a 5MP camera with AI portrait mode and HDR, and around back there is a dual camera setup with 12MP and 5MP sensors. These two cames can combine to let you give your photos a blurry background effect.

Packed inside the Redmi 6 Pro is an octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor with up to 4GB of RAM and up to 64GB of storage. Also included is a microSD card slot along with dual SIM slots. There's a 4000mAh battery powering the phone, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and both a rear fingerprint reader and face unlock for added security.

Pricing for the Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro will start at 999 yuan ($153 USD) for the 3GB/32GB model and go up to 1,199 yuan ($183 USD) for the 4GB/32GB version. You can also get a 4GB/64GB version for 1,299 yuan ($199 USD).

Also introduced today is the Mi Pad 4, Xiaomi's new tablet. It features an 8-inch 1920x1080 display, 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, 5MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture, and both USB-C and 3.5mm headphone ports. There's an octa-core Snapdragon 660 processor inside the Mi Pad 4 along with up to 4GB of RAM and up to 64GB of storage. Rounding out the MI Pad 4's spec list is a 6000mAh battery and microSD card slot.

The Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 will be available in two Wi-Fi only models: 3GB/32GB for 1,099 yuan ($168 USD) and 4GB/64GB for 1,399 yuan ($213 USD). Xiaomi will also sell a version of the Mi Pad 4 that includes 4G LTE connectivity for 1,499 yuan ($230 USD).

We don't see many new Android tablets anymore — save for Amazon's customized Fire OS tablets — so it's nice to see Xiaomi launching the Mi Pad 4 for those consumers that want an Android-powered tablet. Meanwhile, the Redmi 6 Pro looks like a solid upper mid-range Android phone, offering features that you normally find in flagship phones, like slim bezels, a notch, and dual rear cameras, but in a more affordable package. That large 4000mAh battery helps make the Redmi 6 Pro even more interesting in the competitive mid-range market.
