Verizon Moto Z2 Force receiving Android 8.0 Oreo update

Moto Z2 Force owners on Verizon, there's a special treat coming your way just in time for the weekend.

Android 8.0 Oreo is now making its way to the Verizon version of the Moto Z2 Force. Users on Reddit have started receiving the over the air update, which is version ODX27.109-34.

As for what's included, Verizon hasn't shared a changelog as of this post. Here's what the update says when you download it:

  • Productivity - Launch apps or take action based on highlighted text
  • Performance - Apps run faster and smoother
  • Notifications - Now "Unread" badges will be on top of home screen icons, long press to take action on them
  • Usability - redesigned emojis and all new call screens

We know that the update to Oreo includes some other new features, like a picture-in-picture feature that lets you watch video while performing other tasks.

If you've got a Moto Z2 Force on Verizon, you should see this update hit your device sometime in the coming days. You can also check for it manually by going into Settings > About phone > System updates.
