TCL has confirmed that it’s got a new full touch BlackBerry smartphone coming in October, and today we may be getting our first look at the device.
An image of what may be the BlackBerry “Krypton” (likely a codename) has found its way online. We don’t get to see much of it, with only the upper half of the silver phone’s rear being shown in the photo that was posted to BBM Channels. Obscuring the rest of the phone is a black KEYone.
Details on this upcoming full touch BlackBerry smartphone are light, but TCL’s François Mahieu has said that the device will feature IP67 water and dust resistance as well as a battery rated to last more than 26 hours of mixed use.
IP67 water and dust resistance is becoming a must-have feature for smartphones, with most flagships now offering that feature. Unfortunately for fans of BlackBerry, the KEYone doesn’t offer IP67 water resistance, so it’s good to know that the next BlackBerry phone will include it. It remains to be seen if that phone is the one that we’re seeing in this leaked image, but with a launch scheduled for October, it won’t be long before that mystery is solved.
