Google Pixel 2 XL hands-on review

A new month means new Android security patches from Google, and that's precisely what we're getting today.

Google has posted the March 2018 factory images and OTA files for its Pixel and Nexus devices. These updates include the latest Android security patches and are available for users that don't want to wait for their over the air update or if they want to totally reset their device.

In addition to these files, Google has posted its March 2018 Android security bulletin, which outlines the bugs fixed in the latest security update. There are patches for the system and kernel components, among other things, as well as Nvidia and Qualcomm components.

Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL owners are getting some functional improvements along with this month's security patches. Google says that the March 2018 update will bring improved screen wake performance with fingerprint unlock and improved crash reporting for both phones as well as improved audio performance when recording video on the Pixel 2 XL.

If you've got a Nexus or Pixel device, you can manually check for this new update by going into Settings > System > System update. You can also wait for the OTA update to come to your device, which should happen in the coming days.
