We don't see a ton of new mobile hotspots launch anymore, but today T-Mobile is rolling out a notable new model.
The Coolpad Surf is now available from T-Mobile at a price of $0 down and $3 per month or $72 full retail price. With it, you can connect up to 15 devices simultaneously to a Wi-Fi connection using T-Mo's network.
Included with the Coolpad Surf is a 2150mAh battery that lasts 5.3 hours of usage time or 48 hours of standby. It's got LED indicators and a control panel to show you key stats like battery life.
Coolpad's Surf includes support for T-Mobile LTE bands 2, 4, 12, 66, and 71 as well as 3G bands 1, 2, and 4. The inclusion of 600MHz LTE is a big deal, as T-Mobile has been working hard to roll out 600MHz LTE coverage on its network. 600MHz is available in more than 2,700 cities and towns in 43 U.S. states and Puerto Rico. 600MHz LTE reaches farther and is better at penetrating buildings than mid-band LTE.
T-Mobile's mobile hotspot plans start at $10 per month for 2GB of data. T-Mo also offers 6GB for $25, 10GB for $40, 14GB for $55, 18GB for $70, or 22GB for $85. All of those prices include a $5 autopay discount.
